Recommendation prior utilizing barrels
Tips for commissioning
With hot water :
- Fill up each barrel with 4 to 5 gallons of hot water ( 60-80°C, 140-180°F)
- Shake each barrel to properly humidify them.
- Keep each barrel standing on one head during 2 hours,
- Reverse each barrel upside down and wait for another couple of hour, then empty it.
With cold water :
- Fill up each barrel with 4 to 5 gallons of cold water ( 15-20°C, 60-70°F)
- Shake each barrel to properly humidify them.
- Keep each barrel standing on one head during 12 hours,
- Reverse each barrel upside down and wait for another 12 hours, then empty it.
Long storage
If you do not use the barrels immediately :
- Keep the barrels shrink-wrapped.
- Store the barrels within a room with proper humidity and with limited air steam
Prior utilizing
- Fill up each barrel of cold water ( 15-20°C, 60-70°F), and cover the bung hole
- Keep each barrel full during 48 hours,
